Update 9-27-2008:
Per Robert Cox of the Media Bloggers Association:

“…the facts of the case are that AP flagged Drudge Retort for 14 instances of infringement from April to June 2008. Of the 14, Rogers Cadenhead AGREED with 10 of them. In other words, Drudge Retort members WERE infringing and ALL parties agreed with that. There were 4 items that came up in June that Rogers wished to dispute and contacted us for help. Now, if you go back and look you will see that we never said we represented all bloggers, that we have a very specific mission and stuck to it, as always, in helping Rogers Cadenhead, that we did exactly what we said we would do - help Rogers resolve the legal dispute, and did not engage in any attempt to limit the definition of “fair use” as was widely claimed by dopes like Markos Zuiniga, Michael Arrington and others.”

As Cox contends that the AP report(s) that I was (and others, elsewhere, were…) reacting to were inaccurate — and I have no reason to doubt him — I hereby retract my remark below and apologize.
