RNC 08: America, support your patriot youth!
The statist enemy is using violent repression against RNC protestors, including tactics that are illegal by its own standards (such as mistreating them in jail). America, do not turn your back on your patriot (i.e. anarchist) youth that have made a stand in the streets of Saint Paul, raising once more the values of (and hope for) a free society — amidst the clouds of tear gas and hail storms of rubber bullets. They need your help and they need it now!
- Do your part in the RNC Jail Pressure Campaign.
- Promote the pressure campaign as best you can, such as by voting for it on social news sites and emailing your friends about it.
- Donate to the RNC legal support team.
- Mentally commit yourself to long term activism, including self-education so you can help educate others.
Finally, if you’re wondering why I’m equating “patriot” (in an American context) and “anarchist” in this post, you should print out and read Voltairine de Cleyre’s classic work Anarchism and American Traditions, which makes the case that anarchism is the logical outgrowth of the anti-statist values of the First American Revolution.

Interesting take on the advent of a “Hero Generation.” While I’ve yet to read The Fourth Turning, hence know little about it, it seems that the commentators I’ve seen on it universally regard a Hero Generation as being collectivist cannon fodder, along the lines of the “Greatest Generation” that fueled the socialist mass-murder factories of WWII - basically, every combatant.
I find that “Greatest Generation” moniker a hideous falsehood - except from the viewpoint of the monstrous tyrants who stalked the Earth in those days and killed upwards of 100 million humans.
Needless to say, I prefer your take on what a rising Hero Generation might consist of. Hope you’re right.
Victor, thanks for your input. I think I am correct to whatever extent Strauss and Howe are also correct. In their framework, the animating ethos/values of a new saeculum are pretty much born in the Awakening (Second Turning) phase of the previous saeculum and are brought to a position of social dominance during the Crisis (Fourth Turning) that ends that previous saeculum. The last Awakening in their framework was roughly the mid-60’s through early 80’s. That basically narrows the potential winners down to just four: 1) free-market libertarianism, 2) libertarian socialism, 3) a blend of watered down versions of both or 4) the fulfillment of both, otherwise known as anarchism.
S&H are great! I was a member of the forum for a long time. There is a small libertarian presence there.
Based on historical trends, current economic conditions, and the natural fire of the fourth turning, I would expect an evolution to corporate polities.
