Web Applications for political organizing
Libertarian or otherwise generally pro-freedom groups at the local or state level would be well advised to look hard at some of the open source web-based tools available for helping do the grunt work of serious grassroots organizing. Keeping activism task-based instead of discussion-based is aided by tools that are more structured than just an email list and brochure-type web site.
In particular, two apps that have got my attention lately are Advokit for Voter ID and Get Out The Vote work, and more.groupware for a more general purpose, private, “virtual office”.
If you look those over and like what you see, but want a little help with installation, administration, training, user support and so forth — well, you have a friend in the business.
