Referrer stats are a great source of rumors

I’m not the first to observe that the terms one types into a search engine are sometimes a source of puzzlement, concern or entertainment for the webmaster of the site you end up at. They show up in the HTTP referrer stats.

Perhaps the most notable term someone used to find Agorism.info so far in the month of August 2007 is:

the government continuing to quietly move to colorado underground

Make of that what you will. The searcher could be a paranoid seeking validation of their concerns, or maybe something else is going on. Hell if I know.

Discuss.

ADDENDUM:
Kevin Carson writes:

Until a couple of years ago, there was a popular local morning radio show on the FM alt rock station, where the host–Frank Whalen–interviewed people like Alex Jones and similarly minded right-wing conspiracy theorists. More than one of them talked about the U.S. government setting up elaborate, fortified emergency facilities for an alternate capital in Boulder, CO.
