Attention left libertarians: they’re giving out free money and it has your name on it
Many thanks to a self-described agorist (and intern at the Foundation for Economic Education, FEE), one Mr. David Conner, who recently informed me of the Eugene S. Thorpe Award contest from FEE.
This is an essay contest with a $2,000 prize! Additionally, the winning essay will be published in The Freeman, the flagship publication of FEE (edited by celebrated left libertarian Sheldon Richman).
Here’s the skinny on the contest:
FEE invites writers to address the following:
In The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith wrote, “The division of labor is limited by the extent of the market.â€
- What light does this shed on the current movement toward globalization?
- Are there dangers in having government facilitate it in any affirmative way?
Word Count: Essays must be 2,000–3,000 words in length
Deadline: 12 midnight (EDT), August 15, 2008
Eligibility: The Eugene S. Thorpe Award competition is open to writers from around the world, including students, freelance writers, teachers and professors, and business professionals. There is no minimum or maximum age for entrants. FEE employees (and their immediate family members), trustees, and Freeman editors and columnists are not eligible.
Go get that.
Go get that money.
Get it now for yourself and, in doing so, advance the movement by putting out some quality writing.
Go on, DO IT!

Thanks for plugging the contest. I’m eager to see what kind of entries we get.
